Filial Chapels

A village in the Tayinsha District, in the parish of the Holy Family, about 30 km from Tayinsha, and inhabited mostly by people of Polish origin, exiles from Ukraine - deported in 1936 - and their descendants. Almost 100% of those of German origin have been repatriated. The majority of Poles who practice their faith are Roman Catholics.

They gather to pray in the large chapel of Our Lady of Fátima, a building which was still being used as a shop in the 1990s. A few dozen parishioners come to Mass on Sundays, Holy Days of Obligation and special occasions; attendance increases on more important major feast days, such as Christmas and Easter, when numbers exceed 100.

Services are conducted in Russian. Pastoral care is provided by priests residing at the monastery next to the church of the Holy Family in Tayinsha. The chapel in Donyetskoye is a filial church of the parish. In the village live many people who are sick and unable to come to the chapel. A priest visits them regularly every month, giving them the opportunity to receive the sacraments. Adults, children, altar servers and young people who attend the chapel have the option to take part in evangelization meetings and catechetic instruction.
